Michael Amancio Avergonzado

Founder of Modali & LiquidVisuals Interactive • Pioneer of Adaptive Agency

Educator, educational technology architect, and cognitive design innovator from Cebu City, Philippines. Driven by the mission that every human mind possesses an extraordinary, distinct neuro-cognitive pattern, Michael Amancio Avergonzado conceived the Modali (Modali Ed) System and founded LiquidVisuals Interactive, the creative technology company whose multidisciplinary engineering team transformed this educational vision into a global diagnostic and pedagogical platform.

The Foundational Philosophy

"Discover How Every Mind Learns Best"

Michael Amancio Avergonzado’s life work is centered on a radical yet biologically self-evident conviction: human variability is the norm, not an anomaly to be corrected. For over a century, global school systems have coerced diverse learners through the narrow eye of a standardized, one-size-fits-all factory needle. Students who think non-linearly, process visually, or require kinetic friction have been unfairly labeled as deficient.

Avergonzado designed the Modali System to end educational guesswork. By transforming raw neuro-psychometric observations into actionable, high-fidelity Universal Design for Learning (UDL) accommodations, Modali empowers educators to honor every child's biological learning style without sacrificing curriculum rigor.

Resilience Monetizing errors as learning telemetry instead of penalizing them.
Agency Training students to become the self-correcting architects of their own responses.
Compassion Anchoring cognitive growth to systematic kindness through the ARK architecture.
Platform Genesis & Purpose

Why Michael Avergonzado Created the Modali System

The educational imperatives, personal insights, and scientific paradigms that gave rise to Modali Ed.

01

Overcoming Developing World Friction & Inequity

Living and working in Cebu City, Philippines, Avergonzado observed the visceral friction of public classrooms: acute room deficits necessitating emergency "night school" sessions, extreme teacher-student ratios of 1:50 or 1:60, and widespread resource constraints. He realized that educational equity could not be achieved by waiting for multi-billion-dollar infrastructure windfalls. What schools urgently needed was a lean, intelligent diagnostic tool that could instantly identify student processing gaps and guide teachers in differentiating instruction with whatever materials were at hand.

02

Translating Ontario "Learning for All" into Practical Software

Avergonzado recognized the brilliance of the Ontario Ministry of Education's Learning for All (K–12) framework—specifically the Student Profile (Appendix B) and Class Profile (Appendix A). However, global schools rarely implemented them because manual paper intake and cross-tabulation took weeks of administrative labor. Avergonzado designed Modali to digitize and automate this synthesis: converting 100 psychometric indicators into instant individual radars and aggregate class heatmaps in seconds.

03

Democratizing Clinical-Grade Psychometric Profiling

Formal psycho-educational evaluations (such as WISC-V or Woodcock-Johnson batteries) often cost thousands of dollars and carry waiting lists of 6 to 12 months, placing them far out of reach for working-class families and developing nations. Modali democratizes this insight through a non-invasive, accessible 100-indicator teacher- or student-rated diagnostic that profiles across 8 developmental pillars, pinpointing sensory, cognitive, expressive, and executive traits for every child.

04

Preparing Humans for the Artificial Intelligence Paradigm

When Generative AI began automating factual recall, Avergonzado recognized that traditional schooling (teaching students to store facts for rote exam regurgitation) was dead. Modali was re-architected to test for Adaptive Agency: how learners engage their sensory cortex, formulate internal schema, execute baseline prototypes, and pivot using the APE Protocol (Audit → Pivot → Execute). In Modali, humans are trained as the Architects, while AI serves as the Auditor.

The Software Engineering Powerhouse

LiquidVisuals Interactive

Founded by Michael Amancio Avergonzado, LiquidVisuals Interactive is the digital design studio, software lab, and interactive engineering collective responsible for researching, prototyping, and developing the Modali System.

Full-Stack Pedagogical Engineering

The LiquidVisuals Interactive engineering team architected Modali from the ground up: developing the mathematical engine for z-score radar charts, real-time aggregate matrix synthesis, and the 65 clinical archetype classification matrix.

Inclusive & Multimodal UI/UX

Designed to uphold the highest accessibility standards: built-in neural text-to-speech (TTS), real-time question simplification (🪄), dyslexia-friendly typography, 4-tier grade adaptors, and instant 4-language translation (English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese).

Ethical Security & Data Stewardship

Under Avergonzado's direction, the LiquidVisuals team engineered Modali under stringent global compliance standards (FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, and Philippine Republic Act 10173), ensuring student data privacy is an inviolable architectural foundation.

The Studio Mission

Synthesizing Human Artistry, Cognitive Science, and Cybernetics

LiquidVisuals Interactive builds digital tools that amplify human dignity, compassion, and cognitive independence.

Intellectual Inventions

A Decade of Pedagogical Invention by Michael Avergonzado

The interrelated frameworks, metrics, and pedagogical cycles created by the author.

2013

HELRC Cycle

Human Experiential Learning & Response Cycle

The biological alternative to Bloom's Taxonomy. Established that learning occurs in continuous upward spirals through the Sensory Gateway, Internal Integration, Responsive Action, and Feedback.

2026

The MAA Framework

Mastering Adaptive Agency

The definitive synthesis for the AI era at CIE British School. Formalized the 7 MECE Capacities, the APE Protocol, and the doctrine of Humans as Architects and AI as Auditors.

Assessment

Dual-Grade Delta (Δ)

50% Foundation + 50% Distinction

A revolutionary grading formula that measures the distance a learner evolves through failure, reinforced by the Optimization Rule (a 100% first attempt only earns a Foundation mark).

Compassion

ARK Compassion Architecture

Acts of Random Kindness

Codifies kindness as an engineered cognitive habit rather than a mood, structured across Intrapersonal (Self), Interpersonal (Tribe), Altruistic (Stranger), and Universal (Systemic) tiers.

Psychometrics

100-Indicator Diagnostic Matrix

8 Pillars • 13 Subscales • 4 Quadrants

A universal diagnostic questionnaire calibrated across 4 grade-level adaptations and mapped directly to CAST UDL 3.0 guidelines and clinical neuropsychology.

Master Metric

Response Quotient (RQ)

Performance Under Load

The master metric uniting IQ (Cognitive), EQ (Emotional), AQ (Adversity), CQ (Compassion), SQ (Social), and PQ (Physical) into a composite measure of human resilience.
